Kostanay is a city,which is situated in the north part of Kazakhstan. It’s a small, cozy and beautiful town with friendly and hospitable people. Every time I think about my city, I recollect quiet and calm places, green public gardens, and a public beach. In summer time a day lasts till 11 o’clock in the evening, you can walk as long as you want. If you want to have a rest from urban noise, Kostanay is an ideal place.

This city is interesting with its historical monuments, health resort “Sosnoviy Bor” and natural park “Nauruzum”.

Historacal monuments are situated in the center of the city. They are: Voronov Merchant’s house, busts of twice heroes of the Soviet Union – Pavlov and Beda, Yaushev Merchant’s passage (now it’s a museum). Behind the passage, there is a wall of execution. In 1919 Kolchak’s castigators carried out mass executions of Red Guards. Now, it is a monument of Civil War.

The second remarkable place is a health resort ‘Sosnoviy Bor’. It is situated on the lake, which has large reserves of underground mineral waters. Pine forest with clear and fresh air creates ideal conditions for a proper rest.

Natural Park “Nauruzum” is a natural reservoir of flora and fauna. There are many species of rare animals and plants, which are saved only in the territory of this park. This natural park and surrounding forests are the main attraction for citizens and foreigners; they can walk here and do skiing at winter time.

Turgen Gorge (90 km from Almaty) is an ideal place to enjoy the beauty of the nature. The gorge has hot springs, a trout farm, waterfalls and lots of woods. Rich in coniferous and mixed forests, alpine and sub-alpine meadows, lakes and springs, medicinal herbs and berries.


The Turgen gorge is famous for its seven waterfalls. They are all beautiful and they are all have their own beauty.
Another notable feature of the gorge is the relict Chin-Turgen mossy fir forests, which cover the ground and form a thick carpet of trees. The most popular stop in the Turgen Gorge is Botan, the hunting base. Here, where three rivers meet, the gorge have the deepest side over 920 meters.


There is an observatory in the plateau. Ancient burial mounds and rock drawings are dotted along the Asy River. There are quite a few Sacae and Usun graves in the gorge dating back to 500 BC – 3—BC. The small mountain lakes above the Sinegorye are wonderful for bathing and fishing, while lower down is a trout farm where you can fish and to cook the delicious fish-meal po-tsarski for supper.
These places are wonderful and unforgettable. Every person should visit this paradise!

My native town- Ural’sk.

Ural’sk – is a wonderful and old city in the west of Kazakhstan. It's already 400 years old. We have main interesting and historical buildings to see. The cultural life of our city is represented by numerous cultural and educational institutions. For example: Oral Kazakh theater, Oral Russian Drama theatre. A. Ostrovskiyi- one of the oldest theatres in Kazakhstan, its exists more than 160 years. There are 6 cinemas, 11 cultural centers and 24 libraries.

Golden Church.

Golden Church is one of the famous showplaces of Ural’sk. It was built in honor of the 300^th anniversary of ministry Ural Cossack troops to the King of Moscow, celebrated in 1891.

Three-level Mosque.

The new three level mosque opened in Ural’sk in November 2005. The building was built with the help of several countries. The majestic dome over the main hall of mosque is made up of stained glass, brought from Italy and made by German technology. Carpets in rooms were imported from France.

House Museum of Emel’yan Pugachev.

The museum is very popular with the residents and visitors, who enjoy a movement of history and architecture of the 18^thcentury wood. They  exhibite original things of Cossack life and weapons, flags, guns, valuable royal gifts and many other historical things of 18^th century.

If you visit Ural’sk, you will find many other showplaces ,old and new buildings, beautiful nature near the Zhayik river  which will amaze you and, of course, kind and generous people who will help you.

Welcome to Almaty!! Why do I call it "A peace of my soul?" The reason is that I'm a fan of my city. I think you know what I mean. I was born in this city, I fell in love for the first time in this city. It's everything to me! Despite all the traffic jams I still think that AlmatY is the BesT city in the world. Even New-York has traffic jams!) If you wanna feel the spirit of real Almaty, you just have to visit the most stunning and inspiring places of the city!!
Our awesome tour begins with Medeu and Chimbulak!!

The ice skating rink Medeu located at the altitude of 1,691.2 meters above sea level is world-known. It was erected in 1972. The ice surface occupies 10.5 thousand sq.m., which allows to conduct contests in skating sport, hockey and figure skating.

Shymbulak also known as Chimbulak is a ski resort near Almaty.It is located in the upper part of the Medeu Valley in the Zaiilisky Alatau mountain range, at the elevation of 2200 meters above sea level. The resort area is about 25 km south of Almaty city by the Medeo road. It is popular for its mild climate, large quantity of sunny days and great     amount of snow through the winter (from November till May).

Our next stop is Kaindy Lake. 

Kaindy Lake is a 400 meter long lake in Kazakhstan’s portion of the Tian Shan Mountains located 129 km from the city of Almaty. The lake was created after an earthquake in 1911 that triggered a large landslide blocking the gorge and forming a natural dam. Subsequently, rainwater filled the valley and created the lake.

The lake is famous for its scenic beauty particularly the submerged forest and the imposing trunks of spruce trees that rises out of the lake water. Above water, the sunken trees appear as large masts from lost ghost ships, or perhaps the spears of a mysterious army hiding and waiting for the right time to emerge.

The water is so cold (even in summer the temperature does not exceed 6 degrees) that the great pines still remain on the trees, even 100 years later. Because of the clear mountain water, you can see deep into the depths of the lake. In winter, the surface of the lake freezes over and during this time, Lake Kaindy becomes a great spot for trout fishing and ice diving. 

Interesting,yeah?? Next step is Breathtaking Charyn Canyon!! 

The Charyn Canyon is located in the Charyn National Park  about 215km east of Almaty and approximately a 3-hour drive.The Canyon has been described as the Grand Canyon’s little brother. The story of the Canyon is that it was formed about 3 million years ago as the land around the canyon started to rise.  A very large lake existed in the area around the top of the canyon and it started to empty.  Over the next million years the canyon was formed by the Charyn river.  Approximately 2 million years ago a large earthquake disturbed the flow of the river by blocking it with a land-slip.  The visitor part of the canyon then has suffered from the elements forming the rock sculptures.  The Charyn River still flows at the bottom of the canyon forming the next great canyon.

And that's it. It was a huge pleasure for me to describe these places!!!  I'm hundred per cent sure that every person first time visited Almaty would love it forever. And if you want more, I have a few awesome pictures for you!                               

                                                                                    The First President Park

One of the places, where the apple orchard used to be, became the First President Park. And that park is amazing, I must say, although I keep thinking that nature couldn't be replaced by human being's creation.

 I love the historical center with its buildings of the soviet period. There are some quiet streets where I love to walk especially in the autumn.

Almaty is green city surrounded by mountains. When it's not raining you could see the proud peaks of the Trans-Ili Alatau.

Almaty city

Almaty is one of the most beautiful cities in Kazakhstan. The city is full of different places which you must visit. But I would like to tell you more about breathtaking nature of Almaty. You will be amazed how different and contrasting could be the beauty of this spacious city.

Charyn canyon

Charyn canyon is one of the most picturesque natural canyons of the world. The steep canyon slopes, columns and arches rise to heights of 150-300 meters. During the time wind and water turned sandstone rocks into marvellous figures and fairy-tale characters. You would remember this beautiful world of stony castles for all your life!

Big Almaty Lake

One of the must-see sights is Big Almaty Lake.  The alpine lake provides a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  After climbing up a mountain the spectacular view of mirror water, lots of fir-tree surrounded on all the sides by majestic peaks will be opened to you. Moreover, Big Almaty Lake is a perfect place for hiking, skiing, bird-watching, picnicking or camping.

 Tamgaly

Another quite unique holiday destination is the natural boundary Tamgaly. Mysterious and highly spiritual atmosphere of the place will carry you backwards to the ancient times. Tamgaly is a famous “open gallery” with more than 2700 rock paintings made in the epoch of bronze. Thousands of old Fire-altar inside the cave, medieval rock carvings, virginal nature surroundings - nobody in this place can have his/her soul and mind remained indifferent!

My native city

My native city.

From ancient times people usually settled along the rivers.And here is the Ural river, where my naive town, Uralsk, is situated.It is in the west of Kazakhstan.
I think there is no river which had so many names during its life.Whoever stayed there, everyone left their own name.Now most of people remember only the last name, when it was called Yaik.It means a special, comfortable place.There are also many historical and interesting places.

A "golden church"

There is a Cathedral of Christ or usually we call it a "golden church".It is located in the center of Uralsk and was built in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of Ural Cossack army.Unfortunately, the main part of the church was exploded and destroyed in the 1930s.It is a very elegant church and we are proud of it.It has been invaluable in the past and will be so forever.

Shalkar lake

The lake is situated between two mountains, Santas and Sasay.You will not see the opposite shore in the morning.The rich world opens in the bush: geese, ducks, seagulls.Here,you can just swim and relax.

A unique city

One of the oldest and respected buildings in Uralsk is the residence of the ataman (Cossack chieftain).Its facade is decorated by memorial boards saying that it is the house where Alexandr Pushkin stayed when he visited  our city.It was also admired by Zhukovskiy, Dal', Tolstoy.

My city is 400 years old.We are the young generation and should know and remember our history of the native city.I'm proud of the fact that I was born in Uralsk.

Karaganda City

Karaganda region  is the largest part of the territory of Kazakhstan with high industrial potential and rich in minerals and raw materials. This is a powerful industrial center. According to economic, cultural and scientific potential, infrastructure area it occupies a leading position in Kazakhstan. The Karaganda region is known in history primarily to the fact that its territory is the northern branch of the ancient Silk Road. Historically, this region was a trading artery, channel for economic and cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and other countries.

Karaganda Academic Theater 
of Musical Comedy

Karaganda Theater of Musical Comedy first raised its curtain on the 16^th of November, in 1973. The theater is a unique multi-genre theater in the Republic of Kazakhstan. For 30 years, the theater has produced over 138 plays, many concert programs, benefits, and creative evenings.

  

The theater formed professional creative team, whose repertoire includes a pearl of world classics: operas, operettas, musicals, ballets, musical comedies, vaudeville, and plays for children. Successfully pass show presentation of grown-in studio dolls.

          Over the years, the theater has gone on tour in 48 cities of Kazakhstan and Russia, in the rural areas. Today the theater continues to maintain tradition and increase creative achievements, improve skills of actors, to maintain close and good relations with the production teams, to actively work with young people.

Karaganda Ecological Museum

KARLAG (Karaganda Prison Camp) was one of the thousand prison camps called GULAG (or Main Department of Prison Camps). Organized during the time of mass political repressions in the Soviet Union in 1930's, The Administrative center of Karlag was located in the Dolinka Village. Among the places of interest is a large, two-story building of the former Karlag’s Department (Headquarter) where now there is a museum dedicated to the memory of the victims of political repression, an imposing building with columns executed in the spirit of Soviet Neoclassicism. The House of Officers, which was formerly, a cultural center for the military men. The engineering center where the Exhibitions of National Economy Achievements took place. The maternity hospital building and praying house, as well as numerous ruins of adobe constructions, once erected by the prisoners themselves. All of these constitute the main list of some rather gloomy sights.

Where to eat

The restaurant "Chaika". Special attention on your part deserves restaurant of the hotel «Chaika», and not only because it is an integral part of the complex, but it’s worth jewelry. The menu of the restaurant has been famous for fantastic food, includes the most exquisite dishes of Europe and the Orient. Astana

Astana

Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan since 1997, is situated on a picturesque bank of the Ishim River. Since acquiring the status of capital the city's face has changed dramatically. The architects and builders working in the capital create wonderful architectural ensembles, which harmoniously combine modern design and oriental flair.

 The Baiterek Tower has become the city's symbol and its visiting card. The height of the structure is 105 meters. At the height of 97 meters there is an observation deck providing a bird's eye view of the city. The figure of 97 was not chosen at random. It symbolizes the year of the movement of the capital from Almaty to Astana. The Baiterek Tower accommodates an art gallery, a large aquariumand, a restaurant.

Astana has become one of the largest business centers in the region. All governmental organizations, the diplomatic missions of 44 countries and 113 joint ventures and foreign businesses are located here.

Currently, many administrative buildings and business and entertainment centers are under construction in Astana. Among them is the Duman entertainment complex. It is a place for public recreation featuring an oceanarium, 3D movie theater, theater, area for slot machines and interactive games, multifunctional sideshow venue, bowling, night club, casino, hotel, cafes and restaurants and an indoor aquapark.

Another attraction of Astana is the ethnopark "Map of Kazakhstan - Atameken" representing a unique outdoor museum. The map area of 1.7 hectares features cities and historical memorials of Kazakhstan.

Ski Resort Shymbulak

   

   One February morning I went to the Ski Resort Shymbulak with some of my friends. We wanted to go there just to have a dinner. However it was my first time of visiting this place. Shymbulak is located in a picturesque valley on  Zailiyskiy Alatau, 25 km from the center of Almaty. The ski slopes are served by gondola cars from " Medeo " to the base of  "Shymbulak ", 2260 m above sea level. Also you can climb by car.

   Of course you have to be very brave, not to feel fear to rise by gondola cars.First ten minutes I couldn’t look anywhere. When I finally did it the majestic view of   mountain with snowy slopes and evergreen TienShan firs opened in front of me ... Adrenaline feeling didn’t left me all the way. I enjoyed the fresh air and  the beauty of our nature.

   Shymbulak is a place to relax, not only in winter, but also in summer! The beauty of the mountains is incomparable and must be seen and appreciated. At the foot of the wild and unexplored mountains there are long valleys, which are covered with pine forests, amazingly beautiful meadows. It is just some kind of Paradise. Now I can’t imagine my life without this entrancing place and its majestic mountains.

   I advice everyone to visit wonderful resort of our country and to take pleasure in being there.

 

Almaty

Almaty

From my point of view, the most exciting, attractive and unforgettable city in Kazakhstan is Almaty. My beautiful city has a lot of unusual places, but I want to tell about 3 of them. Which are the most attractive as I think.

The first place that I would like to present is our Skating Rink Medeo. It was built in 1972. Mountain valley was named after Medeo nomad, whose village was in this picturesque area. Ice surface of skating rink occupies 10.500 square meters which allows organizing competitions in speed skating, hockey and figure skating. Also skating fans may come here and have a good day.

The second amazing place in Almaty is Turgen Gorge.it is located in 90 km from the city. Turgen gorge is famous for its waterfalls and mossy firs. It is a suitable place for nature fans.

The third beautiful place is Ascension Cathedral. It was built in 1904. It was included in the list of monuments of history and culture of Kazakhstan national importance. The inner structure of the cathedral was made in the artistic workshops of Moscow and Kiev. The iconostasis was painted by N. Khludov. This place is visited both by religious people and tourists.
