Kostanay is a city,which is situated in the north part of Kazakhstan. It’s a small, cozy and beautiful town with friendly and hospitable people. Every time I think about my city, I recollect quiet and calm places, green public gardens, and a public beach. In summer time a day lasts till 11 o’clock in the evening, you can walk as long as you want. If you want to have a rest from urban noise, Kostanay is an ideal place.

This city is interesting with its historical monuments, health resort “Sosnoviy Bor” and natural park “Nauruzum”.

Historacal monuments are situated in the center of the city. They are: Voronov Merchant’s house, busts of twice heroes of the Soviet Union – Pavlov and Beda, Yaushev Merchant’s passage (now it’s a museum). Behind the passage, there is a wall of execution. In 1919 Kolchak’s castigators carried out mass executions of Red Guards. Now, it is a monument of Civil War.

The second remarkable place is a health resort ‘Sosnoviy Bor’. It is situated on the lake, which has large reserves of underground mineral waters. Pine forest with clear and fresh air creates ideal conditions for a proper rest.

Natural Park “Nauruzum” is a natural reservoir of flora and fauna. There are many species of rare animals and plants, which are saved only in the territory of this park. This natural park and surrounding forests are the main attraction for citizens and foreigners; they can walk here and do skiing at winter time.
